While numerous outlets such as NPR and The New York Times have lauded The Glitch Mob for their unique live performances, according to The Mob’s Justin Boreta, “Partnering with Lollapalooza to premiere our newest single just seemed like a natural fit. What really triggered the decision is the cool add-ons Lollapalooza’s website implemented for fan interaction.”

“Known for its live performances, which fuse electronic and live instrumentation, the group works in elements of hip-hop, breakbeat and electro into their compositions.” NPR

Lollapalooza’s eclectic lineup reflects the varying sensibilities of The Glitch Mob fans, who appreciate everything from hip hop to electro beat, dubstep, innovative rock, indie rock, jam bands, and beyond. Similar Minds: The Glitch Mob will be playing on Perry Farrell’s stage on August 6th.

Other than festivals, this tour sees The Glitch Mob headlining their largest venues to date. The first two headlining club shows – San Francisco’s Regency and San Diego’s Belly Up both sold out advance. In addition, a performance at Electric Daisy Carnival warranted interviews with outlets as diverse as the newsworthy Wall Street Journal and NPR, plus the indie-hipster international bible, Spin Magazine and tastemaker blog The Music Ninja.

This tour is one of the group’s most involved tours ever, debuting some of their most innovative new music yet. This time around, they tapped stage designers Martin Phillips and John McGuire to help produce the display of lights and images. Phillips and McGuire are widely known for their work with Daft Punk, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West and countless others. It’s all a triumphant extension of the excitement that followed upon last year’s release of Drink The Sea, the Mob’s debut artist album, which rose to unexpected heights amidst already heightened expectations, with fans following as the band pushed into uncharted boundaries, yet still emerging victorious.

Courtesy of our partnership with Lollapalooza, we are proud to offer you The Glitch Mob’s new single “Warrior Concerto,” from their forthcoming EP “We Can Make The World Stop.”

“The Glitch Mob, one of very few acts to include live instruments, sometimes pounded on three sets of drums to push its hip-hop remixes even further into bass-heavy foreboding.”

Set in the rarely explored period of 1975-1985, Wargame: European Escalation pits NATO (USA and Western Europe) against the Warsaw Pact (Soviet and Eastern European countries) in battles that explore “what could have been.” The specter of nuclear warfare loomed large over the real Cold War, but this catastrophic outcome was the ultimate last resort as everyone knew that the first one to start nuclear hostilities would end up wiped out just the same. Large, armored offensives through Europe would certainly have been the core of this hypothetical war; and this is what the game’s explosive campaign takes you through!

Wargame : European Escalation will be available exclusively on PC, Q4 2011.

AFROJACK DOES IT AGAIN!

After dominating airplay charts worldwide with his collaboration on Pitbull’s ‘Give Me Everything,’ the news dropped this morning that the song had officially reached the #1 position on Billboards coveted Hot 100 chart. With only two Dutch artists to ever go to #1 in the Hot 100’s history [Stars on 45 and Shocking Blue] this must indeed be a very proud moment for the country at large. With nearly 200,000 downloads to date, “Give Me Everything” will take its rightful place at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100 starting June 30, 2011.

“Give Me Everything” has sold an impressive 187,000 downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan and On Radio Songs reports that the track holds tight at #2 with a 6% uptick to 147 million in all-format audience, according to Nielsen BDS.

Afrojack had this to say upon hearing the news.

“I’m soo happy, no words just smiles and jumping around, I wanna thank Pit and our teams for their super hard work, and all those ravers out there who are bringing the club to the next level!!
And I just happen to be in Miami, where the track was born so tonight we will celebrate!”-Afrojack

The Dutch producer has been a rising mega-force in the world of dance music, both on the club and festival circuit [having just headlined Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas this past weekend with over 180,000 attendees] and within the commercial pop music sector. His unbridled hit making ability, and ease in which he transcends genres, has made this 23 year old musical prodigy the ‘go to’ producer and collaborator for many a pop music icon. In fact, Afrojack has lent his creative force (in varying capacities) to industry heavyweights like Beyoncé, whose track “Run the World” [Girls] sampled “Pon de Floor” which was co-produced by Afrojack. Afrojack also co-produced “Look at Me Now” by Chris Brown.

Even his own song, “Take Over Control” has now penetrated commercial radio, and is currently making its way up the Hot 100 chart, up from #96 last week, to #89 with a bullet this week!)

The first number one song of the Hot 100 was “Poor Little Fool” by Ricky Nelson on August 4, 1958. As of the issue dated July 9, 2011, the Hot 100 has had 1,004 different number-one hits.
Its current number one is “Give Me Everything” by Pitbull featuring Ne-Yo, Afrojack and Nayer.

The number one on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart is a significant accomplishment in the career of Afrojack, whose Grammy win this past February (Best Remix for Madonna’s “Revolver” with David Guetta) hailed the producers arrival into the collective music industry’s consciousness.

“Give Me Everything” ends a 19 week run by Adele for “Rolling in the Deep,” and is the first #1 [on the Hot 100] for both Pitbull and Afrojack.

WORLD OF TANKS NEWS

London, UK and San Francisco, CA (29th June, 2011) — Wargaming.net is glad to announce that the Update 6.5 for their worldwide recognized World of Tanks action MMO will be released on June 30. Along with two new maps – Redshire that depicts a traditional British settlement, and Arctic Region, the very first purely winter location – the update will feature the highly-anticipated American tank destroyers line, including the T95 superheavy monster.

Apart from the advanced US tree, Update 6.5 will bring up two premium light tanks – the American M22 Locust and the Russian T-127.

One of the most significant changes Update 6.5 will carry is replacing the M26 Pershing with the M46 Patton, which will become the first step towards global tech trees revision.

“We constantly keep polishing the game balance, and updating World of Tanks to 6.5 is yet another important step in this direction,” said Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi. “That’s just the first of the two American TDs branches we’ll be implementing, so we will bring even more strategic satisfaction to our players in the nearest future.”

World of Tanks is the first and only team-based massively multiplayer online action game dedicated to armored warfare. Throw yourself into the epic tank battles of World War II with other steel cowboys all over the world. Your arsenal includes more than 150 armored vehicles from America, Germany, and the Soviet Union, carefully detailed with historical accuracy.

A flexible system of authentic vehicle upgrade and development allows you to try any of the vehicles and weapons in the game. Whether you prefer to exhaust your foes with fast and maneuverable light tanks, make deep breaches in enemy lines with all-purpose medium tanks, use the force of giant tanks to eliminate opposing armored forces, or become a heavy sniper with long-range howitzers, each unit type has its own advantages and can be extremely effective when operated by a true tank ace.

But being a great tank commander alone isn’t enough to win! In World of Tanks, it’s all about teamwork. Victory is achieved by combining your combat skills with those of the other members of your team, each playing their own role on the battlefield. Just add your favorite strategy to build your own steel empire and manifest the indisputable authority of the tank power!

Eliza Dushku Joins John Barrowman and Eve Myles Voicing the Parallel Story

Los Angeles – June 21, 2011 – BBC Worldwide and Starz announced today the production of an interactive app tied to “Torchwood: Miracle Day.” The app, titled “Torchwood: Web of Lies”, will feature 10, three-minute motion comic narratives providing clues to “Torchwood: Miracle Day.” The app and first motion comic narrative will be available for download on iTunes prior to the premiere of “Torchwood: Miracle Day” – produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, airing July 8 on Starz. Additional narratives and games will be available for download following each week’s broadcast transmission.

“Torchwood: Web of Lies” is an episodic interactive experience for iOS that fuses together motion comic and gameplay elements to tell an original and digitally exclusive Torchwood story. Players will participate in a parallel storyline to “Torchwood: Miracle Day” that includes lead characters Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper – voiced by John Barrowman and Eve Myles.

“Torchwood: Web of Lies” runs alongside weekly premieres of “Torchwood: Miracle Day”, providing fans with a way to engage in the world of Torchwood between episodes. It reveals a past day in the lives of Captain Jack Harkness and Gwen Cooper – a day they’ve both forgotten. The events of that day fuel a modern day conspiracy-laced treasure hunt, as Holly Mokri, voiced by Eliza Dushku (“Dollhouse,” “Tru Calling,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer”), labors to uncover the secrets of Miracle Day. Each week a new episode unlocks, allowing players to access another piece of original motion comic narrative and game which ties into and extends plot developments of the show, as well as providing new twists in its own narrative.

The first narrative and game will be released promotionally and the remaining nine can be purchased inside the app in packs of three, each for $0.99. A special bundle for all 10 narratives and game can be purchased for $2.99
