AVANTE GARDE ELECTRO POP DUO CHERUB ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM MoM & DaD

AVANTE GARDE ELECTRO POP DUO CHERUB ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM MoM & DaD
OUT FEBRUARY 11, 2012 ON ELM AND OAK

“Melding a club-spawn, skull-shaking low end with a wall of guitars and talkbox pyrotechnics, the duo comprising Cherub also sport the silky smooth pipes to spread their appeal to all four corners of the dance floor… It’s like if Chromeo wasn’t trying to be funny.”
– Nashville Scene

In celebration of the imminent release of their new album MoM & DaD, Cherub are offering up a free download of “Doses and Mimosas.” This track is an exciting and progressive take on a modern pop song, delivering a serious punch of power and kick of sass to your eardrums. It’s unique and cutting edge, while still maintaining that danceability and fun that drives Cherub’s sound.

If you’re in Nashville, be sure to swing by The Mercy Lounge on February 11 for Cherub’s headlining performance in celebration of the album release!

Cherub is a progressive, avante garde, electro-pop duo that is the dance love-child of 80’s funk, and art house indie. The members of Cherub, Jordan Kelley and Jason Huber, share a love for honest original music and vibrant live performance, with a common goal to share a little bit of sex, a little bit of drugs, and a whole lot of love with people across the globe. Cherub’s music is a fresh electrified take on risqué pop music that brings to mind a blend of influential artists like Prince, Cut Copy, and The Dream. With a live show that is bouncing with energy, Cherub dances their way into the hearts of audiences from the first falsetto hook, until the very last delay filters out.

After receiving a warm response worldwide to the digital release on the band’s first record, Man of the Hour, and touring throughout the US and Mexico, Cherub has returned to the studio to complete work on their second album MoM & DaD, scheduled for release February 11th, 2012. This new batch of Cherub songs brings a fresh, uptempo electro feel to the familiar pop sensibilities showcased on their first record. Jordan Kelley’s studio production, clever songcraft, and silky smooth falsetto are complimented perfectly by Jason Huber’s live production and tube-driven guitar work.

Cherub’s versatility in songwriting and dance music production blurs conventional genre barriers. Ranging from grooving heartfelt ballads to risqué club bangers, Cherub takes the throwback vibes of old drum machines and washed out keyboards, and marries them with timeless writing and a very modern approach to music production and performance. Playful guitar licks and lush synthesizer textures dance around in the mix, as listeners are treated to sing-a-long hook after hook the entire way through the tunes.

MoM & DaD Tracklist

2. Dear Body
3. You, Me, and Jodeci
4. La Casa Del Obispo

Named among Nashville Scene’s “bands that ruled Nashville in 2011 and that will in 2012,” Cherub is looking forward to an exciting new year. Jordan and Jason are looking forward to a busy schedule early this year, with the release of MoM & DaD, a performance at the Snowball Music Festival in March already announced, and plans to tour throughout spring 2012 and the summer music festival season. Cherub’s debut album Man of the Hour is available for free download at Elm and Oak, and stay tuned for more news regarding Cherub’s new album MoM & DaD.

WARPLANES

World of Warplanes Prepping for Takeoff

Wargaming.net Reveals Details on World of Warplanes Economics

London, UK and San Francisco, CA (15th July, 2011) – Wargaming.net announced today details on economic system for the upcoming flight combat MMO World of Warplanes. The new game recently announced at E3, will have the same economic profile as the highly-acclaimed World of Tanks, with Gold, Credits, and Experience as main currency to gain and spend for continued advancements.

World of Warplanes will feature a global interaction with World of Tanks, which will begin with sharing Gold and Free Experience between the two games for players, who have registered accounts in both of them on a single email. This feature will allow Wargaming.net community to plan their expenses and leave exactly the amount of Gold and Free Experience they want on either of the games.

Wargaming.net CEO Victor Kislyi. States, “We’ve got thousands of players on World of Tanks servers, who have gained a scarily large amount of free experience which they don’t know how to spend. With this sharing option we say to them – hey, here’s our new game, and it’s as brutal and addictive as World of Tanks.”

About World of Warplanes

World of Warplanes is the flight combat MMO action game set in the Golden Age of military aviation. The game continues the armored warfare theme marked in the highly-acclaimed World of Tanks and will throw players into a never-ending tussle for air dominance.

Based purely on aircraft setting, World of Warplanes will allow players to build full-scale careers of virtual pilots offering machines of several key eras, staring from World War I period with “Biplanes” and up to jet fighter prototypes that led the way to modern air forces.

World of Warplanes will feature a wide range of warbirds, each of them unique in their effectiveness and behavior. Virtual pilots will choose from three main warplane classes – single-engine light fighters capable of engaging enemies in close dogfights, twin-engine fighters with their deadly straight attacks, and strafing aircrafts, the fearsome threat for ground targets.

APPARAT NEW ALBUM

APPARAT

THE DEVIL’S WALK

NEW ALBUM OUT SEPTEMBER 27TH

UK & EUROPEAN TOUR DATES ANNOUNCED

Apparat’s forthcoming album, The Devils Walk, will be released September 27th on Mute. The 10-track LP (track listing below) features “Black Water” and “Ash/Black Veil”, two new tracks off the new album that have been released as free downloads. Enthusiasm for both tracks has been overwhelmingly positive with close to 200,000 listens combined on SoundCloud alone.

It is safe to say that any electronic music enthusiast will have come across Berlin artist Sascha Ring at some point. Whether it be via the releases of his first three albums under Apparat, through the music of electronic supergroup Moderat, through his collaborations with other music greats such as Ellen Allien, or at one of his epic live club or festival performances, Sascha’s restless presence within the field of electronic music is unavoidable and elementary to the evolution of the genre.

The past year has seen Sacha’s creative focus return once again to Apparat. For the album, which was conceived during a trip to Mexico in early 2010, Sascha enlisted the talents of Joshua Eustis (of Telefon Tel Aviv) and Fredo Noguerira to help him write the music in a makeshift studio in the small town of Sayulita. After experiencing a lull in creative productivity induced by his return to Europe, it was upon meeting Patrick “Nackt” Christensen (formerly of electro-goth outfit Warren Suicide,) that Sacha became re-inspired. With the Nackt on board as a co-producer they re-worked the Mexican material taking it in a new and more esoteric direction, arriving at the majestic finished product that is The Devil’s Walk.

As an early track to be taken from the album, “Black Water” is a striking composition, compelling not only in its emotional content and aural beauty, but also in its capacity to represent Apparat’s eclecticmake-upand theiraptitude for breaking down electronic boundaries. As the mastermind behind Apparat’s evolution, Sascha approaches many of the mechanics of techno music; richly textured layers, sombre melodies and entrancing dynamics and revises them to produce an orchestral work, driven by fervent emotion rather than mechanical rhythm. His melancholic vocal supplements guitars, keyboards and drums. Together they are suggestive of the progression from studio computer production to stage performance with a live band.

Within The Devil’s Walk, Saschahas evidently transcended both his love for techno and his expert programming skills to investigate an unknown musical realm. Apparat proves they have the faculty to captivate listeners everywhere.

Apparat announces details of the first full scale tour as a four-piece band with UK dates including London’s Scala on July 25th, and dates across the UK in October. Visit http://www.apparat.net/ for a list of dates.
